His Letters is provided by Lantern Post, LLC for personal, non-commercial use. It sends you one letter a day from a fictional character, as part of one story told across a series of letters. You can write back, and your reply shapes the letters that follow.
Every letter is written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) for you. The character is fictional and is not a real person. Letters are entertainment: they are not advice, and they can contain mistakes or statements that are not true. Do not rely on them for decisions about your health, safety, money, or relationships.
His Letters is not a crisis service and is not a substitute for professional help, including medical, psychological, or counseling care. The character cannot contact anyone on your behalf. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services; in the United States, call or text 988. The app's “Need support right now?” link shows crisis resources at any time. Our Privacy Policy describes our full safety protocol, including its limits.
Your replies are yours. You are responsible for what you write. Please do not include other people's private information or anything unlawful. We use your replies only to write your letters, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Each letter is written for one reader, so we can only write for a limited number of readers each month. New sign-ups may close for a while, and a letter may arrive late; the app will tell you when that happens. We may change, pause, or end the service. If we end it, new letters will stop, but letters you have already received stay readable in the app on your phone. Your data on our server is then deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
The letters are provided for your personal reading. Please do not redistribute them as your own product.
The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the update.
